One of Evelyn Jane’s Signature Collection was born from a love of Japanese culture and fabrics. It aimed to celebrate deadstock and preloved materials, but also the women who would wear them, by introducing Japanese kimono silk into a capsule of timeless and classic designs.

Japanese kimonos are made with natural fibres using craftsmanship developed through generations, making them some of the most unique and valuable fabrics in the world. Through incorporating deadstock Australian wool and cotton poplin with second-hand Japanese kimonos, we honor their rich history and give them new life.

One of Evelyn Jane’s Founder and Creative Director, Jane, lived in Japan for eighteen months while completing a study exchange for her Law degree and fell in love with the culture, and the fashion. She has always had a passionate interest in the ways that women use fashion as a means of control and communication within societies where they sometimes lack both, and developed this interest through the study of feminism and its relation to fashion in Japanese culture.

These were the experiences and passions that she brought to the creation of the Signature Collection, as first seen at Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2026.

HOW DO I CREATE MY ONE OF EVELYN JANE GARMENT?

Every One of Evelyn Jane garment is one-of-a-kind and made-to-order. When you place your order, you’ll be asked to order the size closest to your size but once placed, our Founder will reach out to you directly to confirm the details for your garment.

These details will include:

  • Your exact measurements, which may include your bust, underbust, waist, high hip, low hip, bicep, and thigh, as appropriate for your chosen garment. We’ll give you tips so that you feel confident taking these measurements as accurately as possible.

  • Your preferred silk for your One of Evelyn Jane garment. We’ll send you photos of the second-hand kimono silks that we have at the time that you place your order for you to choose from.

  • Any adjustments or amendments that you want to discuss to make to make the garment more accessible for you, such as small changes to fastenings or closures.

HOW LONG WILL I WAIT FOR MY ONE OF EVELYN JANE GARMENT?

Because every One of Evelyn Jane garment is made-to-order, each garment will take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to create. Once we’ve confirmed the exact details of your One of Evelyn Jane garment with you, we’ll give you an accurate timeframe for when your garment will be ready to ship.

Does one of evelyn jane ship overseas?

Yes - of course! We currently ship using Australia Post Regular or Express Postage. Due to the specialised nature of our garments, all our garments will be sent with tracking numbers and will require signature upon receipt.
